Case Study Hutton Roof Overview Working with a local developer on a phased approach to the restoration of barns overlooking the Northern Fells. We undertook initial inspections to best understand the restoration work needed to the various existing structures, informing the planning process and strategy for the redevelopment. Reconstruction of a number of the barns resulted in adopting traditional building techniques with modern technology, and with the restoration of the older heritage barns, we adopted a sympathetic approach to the engineering. The projects went on to win the regional finals for the Federation of Master Builders Project Award. Case Study Gretna Green Museum Overview Following the appointment of a specialist exhibition architect, we assisted with structural changes, remedial works design, construction support and supervision in the updating of the historic smithy building at Gretna Green into a modern wedding venue and museum. Working on tight timescales, we worked in collaboration with the Client, Architect and Construction Team to prefabricate new structural elements, plan remedial works and deliver the project ahead of time.
